LAMP 3

During this project I made 3 lamps based on different neighbourhoods of the city of Rotterdam. All the lamps are hand made out of electric wire, witch are recycled.

This lamp is based on the neighbourhood Katendrecht. This neighbourhood used to be a place with lots of prostitutes. All the sea met went here to go out, it was an unsafe place to be. The black rubber wire, the red light and the print on the rubber expresses this wild night life. Now it is one of the safest neighbourhoods of Rotterdam, where a lot of families with kids live. The copper wire witch is oxidised, expresses this safety. The wire is kitted and that is also very playful.
